Job description

Liteline Corporation is a Canadian commercial lighting manufacturer headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario. We design, source, and supply lighting solutions for specifiers, electrical contractors, AV integrators, wholesalers, and national accounts across North America. Our products light retail spaces, multi-family buildings, restaurants, offices, and hospitality projects — and our team takes pride in delivering technical quality, design value, and dependable service through every channel we serve.

We are a privately-held, mid-sized organization with a flat structure and a strong bias for action. New hires get exposure to senior leadership early, work on real product decisions, and see the full lifecycle of a fixture — from concept to launch to installation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Product Coordinator is the connective tissue of our Product Management team. Reporting directly to one of our Product Managers, you will support day-to-day execution across the product lifecycle: maintaining accurate product data and documentation, preparing collateral and training materials, supporting new product launches, fielding internal product questions, and helping translate technical information for sales, marketing, and customers.

This role also sits at the centre of how Liteline is using AI to scale its product function. You will help build, deploy, and refine internal AI tools — including Claude-based skills and document generation workflows — so that the team can move faster and produce higher-quality output. AI is not a side project here; it is a core tool of the trade.

This is a hands‑on learning role designed for a recent graduate. You will not be expected to know commercial lighting on day one — we will teach you. You will be expected to be curious, organized, analytical, technologically fluent, and willing to ask good questions. Over 12–24 months, the role builds the foundation for a career path into Associate Product Manager and beyond.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Maintain accurate product information in our Product Information Management (PIM) system — specifications, descriptions, certifications, photometric data, images, and ordering codes.
  • Help prepare and update spec sheets, sell sheets, application notes, install guides, and other product collateral in collaboration with Marketing.
  • Review existing product documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness; flag and resolve gaps.
  • Keep the product catalogue current across digital and print channels, including syndication to distributor portals.
  • Use Liteline’s internal AI tooling (Claude-based skills, document generation pipelines) as a daily part of product work — content creation, data analysis, document review, and research.
  • Help build, deploy, and iterate on new AI tools and skills — drafting prompts, structuring knowledge, testing outputs, and refining based on team feedback.
  • Maintain existing AI assets: keep skill content current as products and processes evolve, document how each tool works, and train other team members on how to use them effectively.
  • Identify repetitive or manual work across the Product team that could be improved with AI — and propose practical solutions.
Project management & coordination
  • Track new product development (EP) projects through the gate process — milestones, deliverables, owners, dependencies, and risks.
  • Maintain project plans and action lists; chase open items to closure across Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales.
  • Prepare agendas and minutes for cross‑functional meetings; keep stakeholders informed with concise status updates.
  • Use project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Planner) to keep the team’s work visible, organized, and on schedule.
Product lifecycle support
  • Support Product Managers through new product introductions — gathering requirements, coordinating documentation, and preparing launch materials.
  • Maintain product master data in our ERP system (NAV) for new and existing items.
  • Support end‑of‑life transitions, substitution recommendations, and product changeover communications.
Sales & internal customer support
  • Respond to product questions from inside sales, agents, customer service, and channel partners.
  • Build product comparison tools, FAQ documents, and quick‑reference guides for the sales team.
  • Support sample requests, mock‑ups, and product evaluations for key projects.
  • Track competitor product launches, pricing, and positioning; summarize findings for the team.
  • Pull and analyze sales data from our BI platform (Power BI) to support product reviews and business cases.
  • Contribute to market research for new product opportunities and category gaps.
Cross-functional collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and Finance to keep product information aligned across the business.
  • Prepare materials for and take notes at cross-functional product meetings; track follow‑up actions to close.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Education — a Bachelor’s degree completed within the last 12–18 months (see suggested disciplines below).
  • Communication — clear, professional written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting information to a small group.
  • Analytical mindset — strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, basic charts) and a willingness to dig into data to find answers.
  • AI fluency — regular hands‑on use of AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) for real work — research, writing, analysis, or coding. Comfortable iterating on prompts and evaluating output critically.
  • Project coordination — able to keep a multi‑step project moving: track tasks, follow up with stakeholders, manage deadlines, and surface blockers early.
  • Attention to detail — the ability to manage product data, documents, and version control accurately is core to this role.
  • Organizational skills — comfortable juggling multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders without losing track.
  • Curiosity — interest in how things are made, how customers buy, and why some products win in the market and others don’t.
  • Self-starter — able to take a partially‑defined task, ask the right questions, and run with it.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Co‑op, internship, or part‑time experience in a manufacturing, building products, electrical, or design‑related industry.
  • Hands‑on experience building with AI — custom GPTs, Claude Projects or skills, automation workflows, or prompt‑engineered tooling for personal or coursework projects.
  • Familiarity with PIM, ERP, or CRM systems (e.g. NAV, Catsy, Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Exposure to a business intelligence tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) at an introductory level.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Microsoft Planner, Asana, Monday, Jira) or coursework / certification in project management (CAPM, PMP in progress).
  • Bilingual English / French — a plus for our Quebec channel partners.
  • Personal interest in design, architecture, lighting, or building technology.
  • Willingness to pursue lighting industry certification over time (e.g. NCQLP Lighting Certified, IES education).
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN
  • Hands‑on exposure to the full product lifecycle in a real commercial manufacturing environment.
  • Mentorship from experienced Product Managers and direct working relationships with senior leaders across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and Finance.
  • Industry training and education — lighting fundamentals, photometrics, certifications, and trade events.
  • A clear, internally supported path toward Associate Product Manager and Product Manager roles.
  • Competitive base salary, comprehensive benefits, and a collaborative team environment.
