Job summary

OpenRoad’s BMW Langley dealership is seeking a Product Advisor to deliver exceptional customer service, assess client vehicle needs, and drive new and pre-owned vehicle sales at the Sales department. You will promote the brand across multiple OEM lines, participate in product training, and work with management to close deals while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

A BC driver's license and ability to test drive vehicles are required.

• Proven success in selling vehicles and meeting targets.
• Ability to understand vehicle features, specs, pricing, and options.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by determining each prospective client’s vehicle needs by asking questions and listening.
• Promote new business and contribute to the company’s customer base by seeking new customers through prospecting and referrals.
• Sell new and pre-owned vehicles and conduct vehicle demonstrations including test drives.
• Stay informed on product features, options, prices, and technology changes across inventories.
• Complete vehicle deliveries and explain operating features, warranties and paperwork to customers.
• Collaborate with Service Department and management to ensure smooth handoffs and customer satisfaction.
• Set monthly productivity goals and plan steps to reach them.
• Follow dealership processes to maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index.
• Attend department meetings and participate in product trainings.
• Follow safety policies and report incidents as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $75,000 to $150,000 annually

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide exceptional customer service by determining each prospective client’s vehicle needs by asking questions and listening.
• Promote new business and contribute to the company’s customer base by seeking new customers through prospecting and referral networks.
• Selling new and pre-owned vehicles, and Demonstrating vehicles (including test drives).
• Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in all products/inventory.
• Be thoroughly familiar with all products, including features, specifications, prices, colors, options, and standard equipment. Participate in any and all product training available.
• Use closing techniques effectively; ask for help from management with closing when necessary. Be profit-mindful when closing.
• Deliver new and pre-owned vehicles to customers, and ensure the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty, and paperwork, to help ensure OpenRoad lays the foundation for customer loyalty.
• Introduce customers to Service Department personnel to emphasize to customers the quality and efficiency of the dealership’s service operations.
• Set goals for each month’s productivity; plan and organize how to reach those objectives.
• Follow all dealership processes and procedures to ensure an excellent Customer Satisfaction Index rating on sales, delivery, and follow-up.
• Attend department meetings as required.
• Suitable candidates must have the experience, drive, and proven success selling pre-owned vehicles as well
• Follow company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
• This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Good interpersonal skills; a ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information while maintaining a great deal of professionalism.
• The ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Strong computer skills (internet & MS Office), with the ability to maintain records using a computerized system.
• Effective negotiation skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
• A Current VSA MDC License.
• A valid British Columbia Driver's License with a good driving record.

Success in this role is measured by effective portfolio engagement, appointment creation, retention outcomes, and overall contribution to dealership sales objectives.
