Responsibilities:
  1. Properly train staff to understand policies and procedures and communicate effectively with customers.
  2. Schedule department appropriately to meet business needs.
  3. Handle customer complaints efficiently and properly.
  4. Comply with all Health and Safety and Food Safety policies within the store and ensure staff compliance.
  5. Train and motivate staff.
  6. Delegate and prioritize workload for staff.
  7. Effectively merchandise advertising and promotional programs.
  8. Recommend achievable and aggressive sales goals.
  9. Maintain updated knowledge of market trends and competitor activities.
  10. Oversee receiving, storing, and handling of products to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Ensure proper product rotation as required.
  12. Maintain proper signage for produce displays to enhance sales and profits.
  13. Ensure pricing integrity.
  14. Take accountability for the store in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.
  15. Perform other duties necessary to ensure courteous service, competitive pricing, and hygiene standards.
Qualifications/Experience:
  1. 2 years of Produce Management experience preferred.
  2. Understanding of critical success factors for the No Frills discount food store concept focusing on low-price image.
  3. Knowledge of how the produce department impacts store performance, including merchandising, inventory management, invoice checking, and cleanliness standards.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Strong customer focus.
  6. Ability to manage people effectively.
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  8. Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of produce operations and products.
  9. Open availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
