Role description: Arcadis is looking to hire a Canada Procurement Specialist who will function as a key member of the Source-to-Invoice team, providing strong support to the Direct and Indirect procurement teams in North America. The Procurement Specialist will focus on supporting the region, working through complex and/or language-dependent issues, supporting Oracle procure-to-pay implementation, continuous improvement, and ancillary Procure-to-Pay programs. Additionally, the Procurement Specialist will identify suppliers for projects or categories, manage competitive bids, negotiate and award contracts, resolve supplier and contract issues, ensure adherence to Procurement Policy, create and drive savings and incentives, and support procurement activities for the four Global Business Areas and Enabling Functions. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of procurement concepts, principles, and practices, with experience in program management and project types including consulting, environmental engineering, and design-build.

Role accountabilities:

  • Manage Canada Source to Invoice processes including:
    • Lead change management (communications, planning, support) within ANA Canada for internal users and suppliers to drive adoption of the Oracle PR/PO process and other approved buying channels.
    • Build relationships through multiple stakeholder channels to gain support for preferred approaches and strategies.
    • Ensure adherence to and support Procurement policies, procedures, and systems to implement consistent work methods that deliver value for Arcadis and its clients.
    • Coordinate with Accounts Payable and DtR teams for shared activities and taxonomy handoffs.
    • Support Direct and Indirect Procurement in maintaining purchasing documents and controls.
  • Support procurement by identifying business needs, understanding supply base capabilities, implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier selection and development, and mitigating risks and opportunities.
  • Lead sourcing events, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Manage supply chain relationships through KPI reviews with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within ANA and Global Procurement to share knowledge and best practices, and improve processes.
  • Support sustainability and cost savings initiatives.
  • Key shared accountabilities:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and peers to leverage resources and share best practices.
    • Coordinate with Accounts Payable and DtR teams for shared activities and taxonomy handoffs.
    • Maintain purchasing controls and manage supply chain relationships.
    • Work with pursuit leaders to develop procurement strategies for high-value and high-risk pursuits.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • 7+ years of procurement experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or similar industries.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field.
    • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, and implementations.
    • Proven change management skills and stakeholder engagement.
    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in direct and indirect procurement.
    • Proficiency in business applications, especially Excel.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Understanding of contracts, specifications, and supplier performance management.
    • Flexible, proactive, and self-motivated personality.
