About the Role: We are recruiting for a leading tech company in the SaaS space that is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and scaling the infrastructure for a globally distributed customer-facing platform. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in cloud-based infrastructure, automation, and keeping systems reliable and performant at scale. The position requires expertise in designing infrastructure for global availability, with an emphasis on performance, uptime, and cost-effectiveness.

If you're passionate about system stability, automation, and optimising cloud infrastructure at scale, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Automate and manage infrastructure for predictable and secure operations.
  • Maintain and optimise infrastructure for both production and development environments.
  • Utilise CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins) to manage continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Manage and scale infrastructure using tools like SaltStack and Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines specifically for mobile app development (Android/iOS).
  • Collaborate with mobile app teams to ensure the infrastructure supports push notifications, real-time updates, and API rate-limiting.
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions to track key metrics, including API performance, network latency, and crash reporting.
  • Manage Linux/Unix systems and administer enterprise-grade backups with secure data encryption practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production outages quickly for a global platform.
  • Design highly available systems and ensure the architecture supports a microservices approach.
  • Leverage containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes to create scalable, reusable infrastructure.
  • Continuously improve automation processes and infrastructure based on evolving best practices in DevOps.
  • Collaborate with system architects to design and propose new infrastructure and technology solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role, including expertise in CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (AWS), and infrastructure automation.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go (ability to read and understand code is key).
  • Strong understanding of container technologies (Kubernetes) and networking tools like HAProxy and ALB.
  • Experience with designing and maintaining RESTful microservices architecture.
  • Ability to design and scale global, highly available infrastructure.
  • Australian citizens or permanent residents are preferred, with no work restrictions in Australia.
Why Join?
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
  • Work on cutting-edge technologies within a fast-paced, global team.
