Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud invites applications for a temporary procurement role within Logistics & Supply Chain Management at Portage Regional Health Centre in Portage la Prairie, MB. The person will manage procurement activities, utilize MS Dynamics GP, ensure WHMIS/TDG compliance, and uphold safety standards.

Requirements include a minimum of three years in procurement, post-secondary education in supply chain or related fields, and bilingual English/French where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three-year (3) relevant experience in procurement.
  • MS Dynamics GP experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Health Management or MIS is an asset.
  • Enrollment in a relevant certification program (SCMP, APICS, CIM, CPIM) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Email.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and TDG.
  • Knowledge of Safe Work practices and WHS Act & Regulations (Manitoba).
  • Ability to promote a positive work environment and take initiative.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts in a team or independent setting.
  • Respect for cultural diversity and bilingual capability where designated.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle with liability insurance.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Minimum three-year (3) relevant experience in procurement.
  • Previous experience working with MS Dynamics GP is considered an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Health Management, Management Information Systems an asset.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Enrollment in a relevant certification program is considered an asset (such as SCMP, APICS, CIM, CPIM).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Email.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Knowledge of Safe Work practices and familiarity with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and maintain a positive work environment.

Physical Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job including occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
  • May be required to work in a variety of temperatures including excessive heat or cold.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other facilities as required.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
