Job summary

Canadian Solar SSES (Canada) Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support planning and procurement of logistics services for e-STORAGE’s global battery energy storage projects.

Based in Kitchener, you will develop delivery schedules, assess options, coordinate RFQs, and help prepare logistics agreements with cross-functional teams. The role requires three years in project procurement or logistics, strong Excel skills, and experience with domestic and international shipping.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in project procurement, logistics planning, project execution, scheduling, or a related function.
  • Experience supporting domestic and international shipping requirements.
  • Strong analytical and scheduling skills, with the ability to evaluate logistics options, pricing, timelines, and project risks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with logistics contracts and pricing models, including ocean freight, LTL, FTL, warehousing, and related services.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across functions and regions.
  • Ability to occasionally accommodate meetings with international stakeholders across China and the broader APAC region.
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction, EPC, renewable energy, or battery energy storage projects is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop end-to-end project delivery schedules aligned with proposal requirements, customer expectations, and project timelines.
  • Establish logistics milestones, dependencies, lead times, planning assumptions, and delivery constraints.
  • Evaluate alternative factories, routes, ports, transportation methods, delivery sequences, and schedule acceleration opportunities.
  • Maintain standard logistics lead times, scheduling templates, planning calendars, and supporting documentation.
  • Assess how changes to project requirements may affect logistics schedules, costs, contracts, and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate RFQs for ocean freight, inland transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage, and other project logistics services.
  • Prepare bid comparisons evaluating pricing, scope, transit times, schedule compliance, exclusions, commercial terms, and contractual risks.
  • Support supplier selection and recommendation packages in partnership with Procurement and Logistics stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the drafting, review, approval, and execution of logistics agreements, statements of work, amendments, and work orders.
  • Review supplier quotations and contract documents to ensure alignment with approved scope, pricing, delivery terms, and project requirements.

About the Role

The Procurement Specialist will support the planning and procurement of logistics services for e-STORAGE’s global utility-scale battery energy storage projects. Based in our Kitchener office, this role will develop project delivery schedules, assess logistics options and risks, coordinate competitive RFQs, and support the preparation and administration of logistics agreements. Working closely with teams across Procurement, Logistics, Project Execution, Business Development, Legal, and Finance, the successful candidate will help ensure each project has a commercially competitive, contractually aligned, and executable delivery plan.
