Job Description

As our Procurement Specialist at OTTO By Rockwell Automation, you will work within our fantastic Supply Chain/Operations Team in OTTO By Rockwell Automation, Rockwell's Industrial division. You will wear many hats, collaborate with every department, and be around innovative robots. You will report to the Supply Chain Manager and work hybrid in Kitchener, ON.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

1. Find ways to reduce costs to produce robots.
2. Functionally purchase materials.
3. Negotiate with supply partners to secure fair and optimal pricing.
4. Manage OTTO supplier relationships and facilitate technical contact with suppliers.
5. Standardize and document procurement processes.
6. Conduct local on-site supplier audits; additional travel may be involved.
7. Collaborate with other departments to improve inter-departmental cooperation and effectiveness.
8. Build an accurate material costing knowledge base.
9. Manage supply partnerships within our supply chain.
10. Resolve supplier quality, finance, and engineering issues.
11. Act as a liaison between engineering, quality, finance, and suppliers.
12. Assist in Design For Procurement (DFP) initiatives.
13. Identify and manage supply risks early to minimize impact on production.
14. Process ECO/ECN, RFQ, NCRs.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
2. Legal authorization to work in Canada; we do not sponsor visas.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

1. At least 2 years of related experience.
2. Passion for delivering exceptional service.
3. Procurement or supply chain experience in automotive/OEM industries.
4. Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
5. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and procurement tools.
6. Strong understanding of direct and indirect materials purchasing and cost control.
7. Ability to manage supplier performance, lead times, and quality metrics.
8. Knowledge of logistics, import/export regulations, and inventory management.
