Job description

Procurement Services Coordinator

Position Type: Permanent Full-time, 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 12 months (1.0 FTE)

Salary Range: $84,532 to $96,058

Start Date: Immediately; Duration: Permanent

Procurement Services provides professional procurement support for all schools and departments within the Board. The Procurement Services Coordinator manages procurement activities in line with Board policies and procedures.

Collaboration with schools and departments is essential to develop oversight mechanisms ensuring efficient procurement practices across the Board.

Prerequisites:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business or Supply Chain
  • Completion or near completion of NISCL, CSCMP, CPPB, CPPO, or equivalent; Risk Management certification is an asset
  • Minimum three years in a complex purchasing environment, preferably in the public sector
  • Experience with public procurement policies across various commodities and services
  • Knowledge of contract law, bidding, Construction Act, Trade Agreements, legislative requirements
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong analytical and confidentiality skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with financial systems (e.g., edsembli FIN), e-tendering platforms, MS Office, and e-commerce applications
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Guide and support staff on procurement activities, ensuring policy and legislative compliance
  2. Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including bid development, evaluation, and reporting
  3. Review purchase orders for accuracy and compliance
  4. Administer the P-card program, ensuring proper activity review
  5. Support contract management, renewals, and creation
  6. Oversee vendor performance to maintain quality relationships
  7. Stay updated on procurement trends and best practices
  8. Analyze spend data for efficiency and transparency
  9. Collaborate with other agencies on procurement initiatives
  10. Evaluate e-commerce tools for procurement efficiency
  11. Maintain procurement information on staff intranet
  12. Provide direction to procurement staff and support the Manager as needed
  13. Assist with risk management and other duties as assigned
