Base pay range

CA$70,000.00 / yr - CA$85,000.00 / yr

The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end procurement process to ensure seamless supply chain operations for construction projects across Soul Restaurants. This includes vendor management, procurement strategy execution, inventory optimization, and logistics oversight.

The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics within construction or multi-unit retail environments. They will work closely with General Contractors (GCs), internal project teams, and external vendors to ensure on-time procurement of long lead-time items, efficient warehouse management, and cost-effective sourcing.

Additionally, this role requires a tech-savvy professional who can implement digital inventory tracking systems, automate procurement workflows, and leverage reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, AI-powered analytics) to drive efficiency and decision-making.

SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE :

Soul Restaurants operates 224+ locations across Canada, with a growing pipeline of new builds and remodels. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory tracking of materials, fixtures, and equipment to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.

This position will be key in enhancing procurement and warehouse operations through digital transformation, ensuring cost efficiency, reducing delays, and streamlining supplier relationships.

POSITION FUNCTIONS :

Procurement Process Management

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support project-related needs efficiently.
  • Ensure GCs procure all long lead-time items according to project schedules to prevent delays.
  • Leverage digital procurement tools to track purchasing, vendor performance, and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct market analysis to source high-quality, cost-effective vendors and suppliers.

Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery timelines to optimize project budgets.
  • Collaborate with project teams and GCs to align procurement schedules with construction timelines.
  • Monitor vendor performance using structured KPIs and reporting tools.

Logistics and Delivery Oversight

  • Coordinate deliveries directly to project sites or warehouses based on project needs.
  • Work with logistics providers to ensure smooth transportation and handling of materials.

Warehouse and Inventory Management

  • Assess and optimize warehouse inventory systems to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Implement digital tracking tools for real-time inventory visibility.
  • Oversee the movement of materials between warehouses and project sites, ensuring timely availability.
  • Identify outdated, redundant, or excess inventory and lead cleanup initiatives to improve efficiency.

System Development and Continuous Improvement

  • Implement inventory management systems to improve procurement tracking and reporting accuracy.
  • Automate procurement workflows where possible to reduce manual processing time.
  • Utilize Power BI, Excel dashboards, and AI-driven reporting to analyze procurement trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend process improvements to streamline procurement and warehouse operations.

  • Improves cost efficiency by optimizing sourcing strategies and vendor negotiations.
  • Enhances logistics and warehouse operations through process improvements and digital tracking.
  • Drives procurement transformation through automation, analytics, and structured reporting tools.

  • Construction & Development Teams (to align procurement with project schedules)
  • Operations, Finance, and IT (to optimize processes and integrate reporting tools)
  • General Contractors & Vendors (to manage orders, deliveries, and contract negotiations)
  • Maintenance Teams (to align on warehouse inventory and track repair and replacement materials).

Specialised or Technical Knowledge / Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, APICS, PMP) is a plus.
  • Additional training in digital project management tools is highly preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics, preferably in construction, retail, or QSR industries.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimize procurement costs.
  • Experience with warehouse operations, inventory tracking, and logistics management.
  • Strong proficiency in digital procurement tools, inventory management systems, and ERP software.
  • Experience in process automation, data analytics, and structured reporting (Power BI, Excel, AI-driven tools).
