Compensation: $90,000.00 to $115,000.00 yearly

Calling all Procurement Professionals! My Burnaby-based client is seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the President. The client operates within the wholesale building materials industry and has been established for over 60 years. As the Procurement Manager, you will lead a team of two and serve as the knowledge expert for other employees. This role requires wearing multiple hats, strategic thinking, mentoring, and operating in a fast-paced environment with a business mindset.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Oversee the company’s purchasing functions, including procurement activities, processes, and procedures.
2. Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and data to determine selling prices.
3. Review trade policies and information to assess impact on import/export initiatives.
4. Establish and implement purchasing standards, controls, policies, and procedures.
5. Implement best practices in purchasing and supplier management.
6. Develop and maintain a vendor base to create a competitive advantage, utilizing global markets.
7. Manage product knowledge and development.
8. Establish measurable performance metrics.
9. Maintain records of requisitions, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories.
10. Collaborate with departments on product design, development, marketing, and launches.

Job requirements:

1. Supply Chain designation (preferred).
2. 7+ years of experience in materials, purchasing, or supply chain management.
3. Proven leadership abilities with progressive experience.
4. Experience in a similar industry is highly advantageous.
