Position: Procurement Manager

The Procurement Manager leads purchasing activities to support production and operational requirements within the organization. The role includes team resource development, supplier management, and the promotion of procurement best practices and processes. The Procurement Manager acts as the primary escalation point for issues, builds positive relationships with internal and external customers, and supports corporate strategic initiatives for Supply Chain. Success in this role requires strong leadership, excellent people skills, communication, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coach and mentor a team of dedicated Buyers.
  2. Provide coaching and training to Buyers, supporting standardized processes and leading the implementation of buying initiatives.
  3. Partner with leadership to ensure buying practices meet customer needs and cost targets.
  4. Allocate buying resources across the business unit to balance workload and meet demand.
  5. Handle transactional approvals such as POs, credit card requests, PPV approvals, pre-payments, supplier qualifications, and inventory adjustments.
  6. Serve as the primary local escalation point for part shortages and delivery issues.
  7. Coordinate activities between Buyers and the Planning team for optimal impact.
  8. Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  9. Collaborate with the Supply Chain team on cost reduction and inventory reduction initiatives to support EBITDA targets.
  10. Support corporate initiatives like material cost reductions and supplier discounts.
  11. Monitor supplier performance and lead improvement plans focusing on quality, delivery, and service.
  12. Maintain relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular business reviews for continuous improvement.
  13. Drive material strategies involving PFEP, VMI, and contract adherence.
  14. Review KPI performance with team members, conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings, and recognize achievements.
  15. Participate in UAT for new tools/processes and serve as a superuser.
  16. Assist in developing and implementing SOPs and Desk Instructions.
  17. Represent the Director of Supply Chain in their absence.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Operations, Inventory, or Purchasing Management, or equivalent experience.
  2. 5-10 years of planning/buying experience, preferably in the electronics industry.
  3. Proficiency with Windows OS and related software.
  4. Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, including Excel (V-lookups, filters, pivot tables).
  5. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  6. Experience with ERP systems in a Supply Chain environment, including buying and inventory management.
  7. Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  8. Proven leadership skills with excellent people management abilities.
  9. Certification or enrollment in APICS or PMAC is preferred.
  10. Experience with Lean Supply Chain practices is beneficial.
  11. Industry experience in a multi-location, complex manufacturing environment is preferred.
  12. Willingness to learn and adapt in a high-paced, changing environment.
  13. Entrepreneurial spirit, autonomous, and committed to continuous improvement.
