Job summary

Multimatic Inc. in Ontario is seeking a cooperative procurement student to support supplier research, pricing analysis, and cost-saving initiatives within the Purchasing team.

You will analyze market trends, assess supplier value, and help implement data-driven strategies in a fast-paced environment. This co-op role offers hands-on experience with ERP systems, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to develop practical procurement skills while contributing to cost optimization

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program in a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools, specifically Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, ERP systems and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and quality.
• An ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough segment research to identify potential suppliers and assess market dynamics.
• Analyze pricing models, total cost of ownership, and value propositions for cost-effective solutions.
• Use data to determine purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization through data-driven analysis.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Follow departmental and general procedures where applicable.
