The Project

This major national rail programme is focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor that will strengthen connectivity between key urban centres. The scheme aims to significantly reduce journey times, enhance passenger capacity, and support long term decarbonisation goals. Development is progressing toward phased delivery over the next decade.

A leadership role with progression potential to procurement manager, engaging closely with internal and external stakeholders. Develops and implements category strategies, leading key workstreams and initiatives to deliver high-quality outcomes, meet targets and KPIs, and support the successful achievement of organisational goals.

You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Delivers category management activities to drive functional excellence.
  • Builds strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversees daily team performance and achievement of targets.
  • Conducts robust due diligence and market analysis.
  • Drives process, performance and commercial value creation.
  • Develops and implements strategic plans.
  • Coordinates team activities and provides ongoing support, coaching and development.
  • Supports net‑zero ambitions through proactive carbon reduction practices.
You’ll Need To Have
  • Experience delivering major rail or high speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set up stages.
  • Strong commercial acumen with confident negotiation skills.
  • Solid construction and market understanding.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and analytical tools.
  • Degree-educated; CIPS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

Note: The estimated salary for this position is $100,000 - 150,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
