RTX's Collins Aerospace division in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a Process Technician - E-Nickel for electroless nickel plating of aircraft components. The role reports to the Plating & Processing Supervisor and runs on a weekend nights shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00 pm–6:00 am).

Responsibilities include prep, fixturing, loading tanks, maintaining tanks and chemistry, and supporting lean initiatives. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1–3 years in process chemistry, with plating experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 1–3 years of process chemistry experience.
• Plating experience is an asset.
• Able to read blueprints and use hand tools.
• Knowledge of WHMIS and safety policies.

Reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor, the Process Technician - E-Nickel will be involved in the electroless nickel plating of aircraft components.

Work Shift: Weekend Nights (Friday-Sunday) 6:00 pm - 6:00 am

What You Will Do

• Electroless nickel plating of aircraft components, including preparation of components, to customer specifications and development of work techniques.
• Part fixturing, masking and lacquering.
• Loading and unloading tanks.
• Tank/chemistry, associated tooling and PM maintenance.
• Act as a cross functional team member and support various processes as requested.
• Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams).
• Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts.
• Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Use overhead cranes to move parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, with a minimum of 1-3 years of previous process chemistry background.
• Prior plating experience would be an asset.
• Sound working knowledge of measuring equipment such as calipers, dial bore gauges and Elco meters.
• The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP.
• We Prefer Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and work with various hand tools.
• Strong understanding of WHMIS.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD – 81,003 CAD.
