Job summary

RTX in Oakville, Canada is seeking a Process Technician - E-Nickel to perform electroless nickel plating of aircraft components to customer specifications. You will prepare parts, fixture, load tanks, maintain tank chemistry, and support cross-functional teams.

Reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor, the Process Technician - E-Nickel will be involved in the electroless nickel plating of aircraft components.

Work Shift: Weekday Days (Monday-Thursday) 6:00 am - 4:00 pm)

What You Will Do

• Electroless nickel plating of aircraft components, including preparation of components, to customer specifications and development of work techniques
• Part fixturing, masking and lacquering.
• Loading and unloading tanks.
• Tank/chemistry, associated tooling and PM maintenance.
• Act as a cross functional team member and support various processes as requested
• Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
• Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
• Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• Use overhead cranes to move parts
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High school diploma, with a minimum of 1-3 years of previous process chemistry background. Prior plating experience would be an asset.
• Sound working knowledge of measuring equipment such as calipers, dial bore gauges and Elco meters.
• The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Qualifications We Prefer

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and work with various hand tools.
• Strong understanding of WHMIS.

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD – 81,003 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
