Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Process Technician - Chrome in Oakville, Ontario to join the plating team. You will plate aircraft components, prepare parts, and develop techniques to meet customer specs, with part masking as a routine duty.

The role reports to the Plating & Processing Supervisor and requires 1–3 years of process chemistry experience, plus hands-on use of calipers/Elco meters and blueprint interpretation. Onsite work; WHMIS knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1–3 years process chemistry background.
  • Experience measuring equipment such as calipers and Elco meters.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience using various hand tools.
  • Eligible to work in Canada; meet ITAR and CCGP requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Chrome plating of aircraft components, including preparation to customer specs.
  • Part masking as part of duties.
  • Part fixturing, loading and unloading.
  • Tank/chemistry maintenance and tooling.
  • Cross-functional team member; support other plating applications.
  • Participate in lean initiatives (5S, TPM, process improvement).

  • Complete responsibilities within training time of 3 months.

Collins aerospace is looking to hire Process Technician - Chrome; Reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor, the Process Technician - Chrome will be involved in the chrome plating of aircraft components.

Work Shift: Weekday Afternoon (Monday-Thursday) 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

What You Will Do
  • Chrome plating of aircraft components, including preparation of components, to customer specifications and development of work techniques
  • Part masking will be part of the regular duties of this position
  • Part fixturing, loading and unloading
  • Tank/chemistry maintenance and associated tooling
  • Act as a cross functional team member and support other plating applications as requested
  • Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
  • Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 3 months.
  • Candidate will be expected to wear appropriate PPE
  • Perform other duties as required
Qualifications You Must Have
  • High school diploma, with 1 – 3 years previous process chemistry background;
  • Experience in measuring equipment such as calipers and Elco meters
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience in using various hand tools.
  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Prior chrome plating experience would be considered an asset
  • Verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a cross-functional employee
  • Strong understanding of WHMIS

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD – 81,003 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
