Job summary

Catalent is hiring for a Process Technician at the Adair site in Ontario, focusing on startup and ongoing manufacturing of Zydis technology. You will support installation, qualification, regulatory readiness, and commercial manufacturing, reporting to the Production Supervisor.

The role involves maintaining safety, quality, and compliance, with training across main and support areas, mentoring trainees, and helping keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred; GMP experience advantageous.
  • Must be able to read and follow written instructions and complete batch records.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams; good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Minimise equipment downtime and improve equipment availability.
  • Uphold site safety and quality standards; participate in risk assessments and safety investigations.
  • Ensure batch records are completed in real time and follow cGMP procedures.
  • Complete required Compliance Wire training within due dates.
  • Suggest improvements to batch processes and SOPs for efficiency.
  • Maintain adherence to Catalent values and professional standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM; potential to transition to 12-hour shifts in the future
  • This position is 100% on-site at the Adair site.
Position Summary

The newly launched manufacturing facility on Adair Blvd marks a pivotal expansion of Catalent’s Zydis® technology, a globally renowned, fast-dissolve oral dosage form that has transformed the lives of millions of patients worldwide. At Adair, you’ll play a vital role in the startup of a site built for innovation and excellence, from installation and qualification to regulatory approval and commercial manufacturing.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the process technician will develop skills in their area and secondary area, they will know all basic tasks, be a specialist in their main area and learn skills in a support area. The process technician will mentor trainee technicians in areas where support is needed and assist other process technicians and lead technicians in maintaining production schedule via providing support in areas they are trained in.

The Role
  • Minimise equipment downtime and improve equipment availability by being accountable for delivering and reducing machine turnaround time.
  • Ensure the team consistently sets and upholds site safety best practices by demonstrating zero-tolerance behaviors, continually challenging and raising safety standards, and eliminating risk to employees, products, and the environment through active participation in safety and accident investigations and completion of high-quality, current risk assessments.
  • Ensure team consistently sets site quality best practices by demonstrating zero defect behaviour, continually challenging and raising Quality standards.
  • Ensure batch manufacturing records are accurately completed in real time to support timely documentation approval, with processes and procedures including online and in‑process quality checks—followed rigorously to deliver consistent, high‑quality products, while ensuring all team members adhere to SOPs and comply with individual cGMP responsibilities to prevent any deficiencies.
  • Carry out specific targeted training as required, and ensure Compliance Wire training requirements are carried out within specified due dates
  • Recommend improvements to the batch manufacturing process, SOP’s to increase process efficiency and effectiveness and maintain 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with Catalent values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
  • High School Diploma, GED/CAEC and/or educational credential assessment (ECA) is required.
  • 2 years or more of experience in manufacturing environment is preferred, GMP work experience preferred, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing experience is an advantage.
  • This role is required is to be clean shaven to wear a respirator, which is deemed mandatory to meet Health & Safety requirements.
  • Good math skills and Capable of operating related computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently, as required and complete daily activities and work cooperatively in teams, communicates clearly and has effective listening skills.
  • Good standard of oral and written English and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Able to complete written batch records.
  • Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming the Canadian equivalency of the credentials as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.
  • This position does not qualify for sponsorship.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders/steps, reading written documents, and use of a computer monitor, as well as talking and listening; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, reaching with hands and arms; occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 kg; and may be exposed to inclement weather or required to work in environments that require the use of protective gear and heightened awareness of personal and others’ safety.
Pay

The start hourly rate for this position is $26.93/Hr. Catalent is a global employer, and this compensation does not reflect positions that work in other countries.
