Catalent is seeking a Lab Analyst to join our Strathroy, Ontario team on-site. The role focuses on testing raw materials, finished products, and stability samples, ensuring quality and compliance in a GMP environment.
The successful candidate will perform analyses, calibrate instruments, train staff, and maintain lab supplies, with overtime as needed. Eligibility for the role requires a chemistry education and relevant lab experience.
Strathroy, Ontario is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.
We have an opportunity for a Lab Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate and perform laboratory activities, including analysis of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples. You will be part of a scientific team supporting the advancement of pharmaceutical products. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality and compliance in a dynamic environment.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Perform testing of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples using instrumental and wet chemistry methods as described in compendia references or in-house methods.
Train, advise, and assist laboratory personnel as required on methods, procedures, and tests.
Maintain adequate levels of laboratory supplies.
Calibrate and maintain instruments according to relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Comply with SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times.
Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment, including cleaning, glassware washing, storing supplies, and waste disposal.
Work extended hours (overtime) when problems occur or deadlines must be met.
Perform other duties as assigned.
College diploma in Chemistry or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience as a lab analyst is preferred.
Experience working in a pharmaceutical and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility is an asset.
The employee’s role frequently involves sitting and utilizing hands and fingers for tasks such as handling, feeling, and keyboard manipulation, necessitating manual dexterity.
Occasionally, the position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, alongside close vision capabilities and potential exposure to chemicals.
Strong technical and scientific background.
Knowledge of laboratory techniques, terminology, equipment, and materials.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Demonstrate applicable ethics and due diligence.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming Canadian equivalency as determined by the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC) such as WES.
This position does not qualify for sponsorship.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary within this range $50,000 – $55,000, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but be not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a global employer, and this salary range does not reflect positions that work in other countries.
