Job summary

CuBE Packaging Solutions Inc. is seeking a maintenance supervisor with strong expertise in injection molding to lead and optimize our molding operations in Canada.

You will oversee process development, ensure standards are met, and drive continuous improvement across tooling, robotics, and auxiliary equipment. The role requires hands-on leadership, planful problem solving, and LMN-style coaching to lift performance while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in direct/indirect supervision and injection molding machine processing.
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or accredited mold making program or relevant college certification.
• Minimum three years implementing Lean Manufacturing methods (SMED) and continuous improvements.
• Demonstrated hands-on leadership and coaching abilities across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain best practice injection molding processes to improve cycle times while maintaining quality.
• Ensure production processes are established, benchmarked, backed up, and employees trained.
• Commission new equipment including robots, IMMs, and molds to meet forecasted cycle times.
• Foster a fair, equitable environment and promote learning and training.
• Maintain and improve process parameters to run tools faster with reliability.
• Comply with Cube Management System (CMS).
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic, hybrid, and electric injection molding machines.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic circuits, sensors, and safety interlocks.
• Maintain clamp, ejector systems, and tooling alignment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and documentation.

Major Responsibilities:

Required Duties:

• Ensure all machines are running to master process and communicate when master process is deviated
• Maintain the process standards in which all parts are manufactured
• Maintain best possible injection molding process parameters and cycle times
• Communicate with previous and next shift to understand any technical or quality issues

Maintenance Responsibilities:

Injection Molding Machinery

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic, hybrid, and electric injection molding machines
• Troubleshoot issues related to hydraulic circuits, pumps, valves, leaks, pressures, and actuators
• Identify and repair electrical faults, including sensors, relays, heaters, thermocouples, limit switches, and safety interlocks
• Maintain and repair clamp systems, ejector systems, platen alignment, tie-bars, lubrication systems, and mechanical wear components
• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and complete required documentation
• Inspect and maintain barrel assemblies, heater bands, wiring, and cooling channels

Robotics & Automation

• Perform adjustments and repairs to end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
• Diagnose robot I/O issues and perform minor program edits for recovery
• Maintain and troubleshoot downstream automation equipment such as conveyors, separators, and handling systems

Auxiliary Equipment

• Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment, including resin dryers and loaders, blenders, grinders, temperature control units (TCUs), chillers, and hot runner temperature controllers
• Inspect and repair water, air, and vacuum lines associated with molding operations

General Maintenance

• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics
• Perform mechanical repairs using machine tools such as grinders, drill presses, and lathes (as required)
• Follow all safety rules, SOPs, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
• Provide support on facility-related projects and preventative maintenance tasks

Education and Experience

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in direct/indirect supervision and injection molding ma‑chine processing to produce molded parts
• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or accredited mold making program or relevant College Technical Certification
• Minimum three (3) years of experience using Lean Manufacturing methodologies, i.e. SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die)
• Minimum three (3) years of experience developing Continuous Improvements in production processes
• Demonstrated hands‑on leadership and coaching abilities - able to demonstrate several examples of empowering, developing and motivating people
• Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
• Basic tooling background an asset
• Must have computer skills (Microsoft Office experience required)
• Experience in crane, scissor lift and forklift an asset

Hourly Rate: $40

Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday 3:30PM - 12:00AM
