The Process Engineer is responsible for mining and refinery process improvements, modelling and validation of process changes, and assisting with scoping of capital projects. They lead and contribute to site initiatives supporting our strategic priorities.
Process improvement projects for both the mining and refinery processes. Primary responsibilities can include process improvements and innovation, increasing production capabilities, safety and environmental stewardship, product quality improvements, and technical support for other departments/disciplines.
Assist in the development and refinement of computer based production models for the mining and refinery processes. Utilize the models to validate process improvements for the purpose of project prioritization. Support capital projects for the purpose of scoping and upfront engineering requirements.
Assist with planning activities including process modeling, development of production targets and parameters, capital design support, and five-year planning activities. Identifying longer term areas of improvement to fill through technology or innovation.
Ensuring a high-level of safety and environmental excellence is sustained in the operation of the assets in our facilities. Participate and contribute to EHS requirements including safety audits, safety meetings 5S, and Management of Change.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, major in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status with APEGS
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Collaborative and can perform in a team environment.
Strong ability to set goals, priorities, and schedule to accomplish tasks.
Effective oral & written communication skills.
