Job summary

The Mosaic Company in Esterhazy, SK is seeking a Process Engineer to lead mining and refinery process improvements, model and validate changes, and scope capital projects. You will drive safety, environmental stewardship, and production enhancements by developing production models and supporting five-year plans.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Industrial), an EIT or P.Eng with APEGS, and 2+ years' related experience for Engineer II

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required with a major in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGS is required/preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mining and refinery process improvements and model/validate process changes.
  • Support scoping of capital projects and provide technical input to project prioritization.
  • Develop and refine computer-based production models for validation and planning.
  • Assist with planning activities including five-year planning and capital design support.
  • Promote safety, environmental stewardship, and compliance across operations.

Are you our next Process Engineer?

The Process Engineer is responsible for mining and refinery process improvements, modelling and validation of process changes, and assisting with scoping of capital projects. They lead and contribute to site initiatives supporting our strategic priorities.

What will you do?

Process improvement projects for both the mining and refinery processes. Primary responsibilities can include process improvements and innovation, increasing production capabilities, safety and environmental stewardship, product quality improvements, and technical support for other departments/disciplines.

Assist in the development and refinement of computer based production models for the mining and refinery processes. Utilize the models to validate process improvements for the purpose of project prioritization. Support capital projects for the purpose of scoping and upfront engineering requirements.

Assist with planning activities including process modeling, development of production targets and parameters, capital design support, and five-year planning activities. Identifying longer term areas of improvement to fill through technology or innovation.

Ensuring a high-level of safety and environmental excellence is sustained in the operation of the assets in our facilities. Participate and contribute to EHS requirements including safety audits, safety meetings 5S, and Management of Change.

What do you need for this role?

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, major in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Master's degree preferred.

Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status with APEGS

  • Engineer II
  • 2+ years of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management
  • Engineer III

  • Engineer Sr
  • 8+ years or more of related experience in engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Collaborative and can perform in a team environment.

Strong ability to set goals, priorities, and schedule to accomplish tasks.

Effective oral & written communication skills.
