Job summary

ITW Zip-Pak in Ottawa, IL, is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to advance manufacturing capabilities by driving process optimization, supporting new product introductions, and delivering measurable safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements across the plant.

You will troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analyses, and partner cross-functionally to implement solutions, while contributing to continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, and process systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation Information:

The salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually. The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on the geographic location, this salary range is for a successful candidate in the Chicagoland area. The specific hiring rate within the posted range will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
