Job summary

Agilus by Synergie is seeking a Lead Process Engineer in Calgary to direct SAGD and thermal oil sands projects. You will provide technical leadership, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and drive projects from feasibility through start-up.

The role calls for extensive experience in oil and gas process engineering, strong mentoring abilities, and proven leadership in EPCM or owner-operator environments. Competitive package available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required.
• Extensive process engineering experience in oil and gas.
• Experience with SAGD and thermal oil sands projects.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience in EPCM/Consulting/Owner-Operator environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities on SAGD and thermal oil sands projects.
• Manage process engineering scope, schedules, deliverables and priorities.
• Develop process simulations, heat and material balances, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Support projects from feasibility through commissioning and start-up.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and risk assessments.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to teams.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks while ensuring safety and quality.

Requirements:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
• Possess a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
• Demonstrate extensive process engineering experience within the oil and gas industry
• Bring significant experience supporting SAGD and thermal oil sands projects
• Have proven success leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Show experience within EPCM, consulting, or owner-operator environments
• Demonstrate expertise supporting projects from studies and FEED through start-up
• Exhibit strong knowledge of Aspen HYSYS, process design, and thermal oil sands facilities
