Principal Site Reliability Engineer - Database Administration

Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)

Position Overview
We are looking for a Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who is passionate about cloud infrastructure and proficient in MySQL database administration. This pivotal role centers around ensuring the utmost reliability, availability, and performance of our database systems, particularly MySQL databases hosted in AWS Aurora and other NoSQL databases.

In this role, you will:

1. Architect, develop and manage Cloud infrastructure alongside MySQL and NoSQL databases within high SLA environments.
2. Ensure robust database administration for various applications, promoting continuous operations.
3. Lead database maintenance tasks and disaster recovery strategies.
4. Spearhead database consolidation, migration, and capacity planning efforts.
5. Enhance database performance, security, and monitoring frameworks.
6. Collaborate across functions to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and database issues.
7. Engage in on-call rotations, providing critical 24x7 support for our production systems.

You bring:

1. Minimum of 8 years experience in MySQL database administration or similar roles.
2. Profound expertise in AWS cloud services and database technologies such as MySQL replication, MySQL Cluster, and AWS RDS - Aurora.
3. Advanced skills in UNIX, Python, Shell scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
4. A proactive approach to database security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,500 and $180,840. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
