Akamai is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test to own VM/fleet test strategy and hypervisor validation across the IaaS platform. You will design reproducible environments using containers to mirror bare-metal VM conditions and ensure data integrity without physical hardware.

• 12 years in testing, including performance testing and hypervisor platforms.
• Experience with KVM/QEMU/libvirt internals and VM-exits.
• Strong Linux fundamentals: scheduler, memory, I/O, storage.
• Experience with Linux perf, VTune, eBPF, Bash, Jenkins, and SaltStack.

Responsabilidades

• Define and own test strategy for hypervisor behavior and VM performance.
• Design reproducible test environments emulating bare-metal VM conditions using containers.
• Develop automated performance benchmarks with baselines and regression gates.
• Collaborate with product and SRE to define SLOs and deployment safety.
• Write test harnesses and performance pipelines in Go, Python, and Perl.
