Job summary

Ryan LLC in Mississauga, Canada seeks a Principal, Practice Leader for International Income Tax. You will oversee consulting and compliance work, supervise staff, and develop planning ideas for global clients.

Travel and collaboration with the global team are expected to expand services across markets. The role requires a deep tax background, excellent communication, and a record of delivering high-quality results in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Economics required.
  • 10–12 years of experience in Income Tax.
  • Excellent technical income tax skills.
  • Deep familiarity with income tax laws, especially cross-border transactions.
  • Strong service delivery and teamwork track record.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises consulting and compliance work by staff and managers.
  • Develops new client relationships and expands the practice to new markets.
  • Collaborates with Ryan global management to deliver planning ideas for global clients.
  • Coordinates delivery of International Income Tax services for multinational clients.
  • Presents at prospects and client meetings.

The Principal, Practice Leader, Income Tax is responsible for developing, implementing and executing tax services.


Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

People: Supervises consulting and compliance work delegated to staff and managers.


Client:

Develops new client relationships and works with Ryan global management team to expand the practice to other markets.


Works with Ryan International Income Tax practice to develop new planning ideas to deliver to global clients.


Works with Ryan International Income Tax Consultancy-Recovery practice to develop new planning ideas to deliver to global clients.


Coordinates the delivery of International Income Tax services to Ryan multinational clients.


Presents presentations to prospects and clients.


Value:

Develops and executes International Income Tax consulting projects.


Develops and supervises International Income Tax compliance projects.


Serves as subject matter expert on International Income Tax in assigned jurisdictions / geographical areas.


Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Economics required;

  • a minimum of 10 to 12 years’ experience in Income Tax;

  • excellent technical income tax skills;

  • deep familiarity with income tax laws and rules, especially those governing international trade and cross-border transactions of goods and services;

  • previous track record of excellent service delivery and working in a team environment.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.


Certificates and Licenses:

Valid Passport required.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the International Income Tax practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws.


Work Environment:

Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer. Position requires regular interaction with coworkers and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.


Independent travel requirement: 40 to 50%, but will vary by individual.
