Job summary

NORR Architects Engineers Planners in Toronto is seeking a Principal/Director, Major Projects to lead our most complex, large-scale assignments from pursuit through completion. You will influence project delivery across sectors, mentor senior project managers, and drive centre of excellence initiatives.

The role demands advanced architectural or engineering expertise, senior leadership, and a collaborative, client-focused approach with Practice Leaders, Operations and Studio Managers.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience leading large multidisciplinary projects.
• Professional designation preferred (e.g., Architect, PMP, Professional Engineer, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor Senior Project Managers and technical leaders while leading through collaboration and influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of large scale and complex projects from pursuit through completion.
• Provide executive oversight of sector project delivery, performance, quality, contractual commitments, and managing risk.
• Partner with Practice Leaders, Operations, and Studio Managers to strengthen project delivery excellence across the organization.
• Advance project delivery standards, governance, and best practices as a member of the Centre of Excellence.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders, strengthening long-term partnerships through exceptional project outcomes.
• Support strategic pursuits by contributing project delivery expertise during planning, client presentations, and interviews.

As a Principal/Director, Major Projects, you will lead the successful delivery of our most complex and large-scale projects. Serving as a senior project delivery leader and Centre of Excellence member, you will influence how projects are delivered across the sector and organization, while mentoring the next generation of project and technical leaders.

You will Bring to the Team

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Professional designation preferred (e.g., Architect, PMP, Professional Engineer, or equivalent industry certification).
• 15+ years of progressive experience leading large, multidisciplinary projects within an Architecture, Engineering, or professional services environment.
• Proven success delivering projects involving significant technical, financial, risk, and stakeholder complexity.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor Senior Project Managers and technical leaders while leading through collaboration and influence.

The hiring base salary range for this vacant position is $140,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be based on several factors such as education, experience, internal equity and skills.
