Job summary

u-blox is seeking a senior GNSS technical leader in Calgary, Canada. You will shape strategy, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team initiatives to achieve centimeter-level accuracy for industrial robotics and autonomous machines worldwide.

You will combine deep GNSS algorithm expertise with a passion for mentoring, influencing roadmaps, and turning complex customer problems into elegant solutions in a collaborative, flat-structure environment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in high-precision GNSS product development.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence roadmaps.
  • Strong communication skills for technical discussions and whiteboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a recognized authority on GNSS algorithms and positioning systems architecture.
  • Drive next-generation high-precision GNSS initiatives and prototype to production-grade systems.
  • Co-shape the technical roadmap with Product Owners and principal engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-business-unit teams to implement end-to-end algorithms and ensure product success.
  • Mentor engineers across the unit, scale impact through coaching and frameworks.
  • Represent the company in standards bodies, consortia, or customer engagements as needed.

Location: Calgary (Canada)

You will be one of the technical leaders behind u-blox’s expanding portfolio of high-precision positioning services: a recognized leader across the business unit who shapes strategy, leads cross-team initiatives, mentors engineers, and still dives into algorithms when needed. Your work will directly influence how industrial robotics and autonomous machines achieve centimeter-level accuracy worldwide.

Your Responsibilities
  • Act as a recognized authority on GNSS algorithms and positioning systems architecture.
  • Drive next-generation initiatives in the field of high-precision GNSS positioning, and rapidly prototype, validate and develop production-grade systems
  • Co-shape the technical roadmap with Product Owners and fellow principals
  • Work in cross business unit teams to support end-2-end algorithms implementation to ensure end-to-end product success
  • Mentor engineers across the business unit, scale your impact through coaching and frameworks
  • Represent us in standards bodies, consortia, or critical customer engagements when needed
Your Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years in high-precision GNSS product development
  • Strong ability to productize in C/C++
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives without formal authority
  • Excellent communication – technical discussion with Product Owners and whiteboarding sessions with peers
