As a System Designer, you will be involved in the complete system development lifecycle of the new generation of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers. You will be part of the GNSS engineering team responsible for designing best-in‑class system and software solutions for CMC customers. You will apply and maintain the various development standards imposed by the avionics field while improving industry GNSS standards and developing innovative solutions.

As a System Designer Your Key Responsibilities Include
  • Participate in the development of new GNSS system solutions in accordance with company standards and industry methodologies.
  • Design GNSS systems that meet and exceed industry performance requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of development, including peer reviews.
  • Resolve multiple technical challenges related to new and existing technologies.
  • Review detailed execution plans and schedules with the project management team to ensure adequacy, completeness, and harmonization with the overall program plan.
  • Generate system requirements documents for physical and logical interfaces.
  • Define cockpit display formats and control operations in conjunction with the customer.
  • Support change management related activities at the program level.
  • Meet with customers to understand their challenges and propose valuable solutions.
  • Act as a key player in the development, integration, and formalization phases of GNSS receiver solutions.
To Join Our Team, You Must
  • Familiarity with requirements management systems (DOORS).
  • Familiarity with the DO-178 certification process.
  • Familiarity with minimum operational performance requirements DO-229, DO-253, and DO-401.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Matlab and Simulink.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (RS-232, RS-422, ARINC 429, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Experience in avionics development.
To Excel In This Role, You Must Have
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university, or equivalent.
  • Possess at least five (5) years of experience in GNSS development; years’ experience as a (job type or environment).
  • Eligible to CGP (Controlled Goods Program).
  • Deep knowledge and relevant experience in GPS/GNSS receiver theory, design, and application.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical users.
  • Advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and design skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of high-speed signal acquisition and analysis, FPGA, and ASICs.
  • Experience working closely with AEH and software developers in the implementation and validation of requirements.
