The Enterprise Architect's primary role is supporting sales teams in developing Salesforce value propositions that align with our customer’s digital transformation and cloud adoption strategies. An Enterprise Architect in a pre-sales role is a customer-facing enterprise-wide expert with broad technical skills, deep industry knowledge, and unparalleled business acumen. The Enterprise Architect is a subject matter expert in categories such as business strategy, application architecture, data & information, integration, security, cloud computing, distributed platforms, mobile, and analytics. Enterprise Architects utilize strong sales skills and proven consultative approaches to engage with customers and define their transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the customer in business planning and strategy by focusing on business capabilities and maturity. Understand customer needs and match them with best-in-class technology to define a north-star target state. Help define prioritization and sequencing of the transformation by proposing a strategic roadmap that leads to the target state. Lead key discussions around change programs from both business and technical perspectives.
- Determine which Salesforce and third-party technologies to leverage in the customer's architecture landscape based on product knowledge, industry experience, industry-standard EA frameworks, and Salesforce EA methodologies.
- Articulate business architecture (mission/vision, capability models, capability assessments) and technical architecture (current and future state diagrams, solution best practices, reference architectures, design patterns).
- Provide reliable and trusted data-rich points of view of relatable customer transformations in the Industry, showcasing how similar customers have succeeded in their transformation.
- Travel to customer engagements (around 30% of the month). This position may support multiple geographies and account teams.
- Engage with account executives and solution engineers to develop opportunities for enterprise architecture engagements. Promote and communicate the value of Enterprise Architecture within the sales and customer success organizations.
- Participate in product/sales training, certifications, and industry summits to stay current.
- Share engagement experiences internally through workshops, enablement sessions, and mentoring junior architects.
Your Impact:
- Be a trusted advisor to CIO/CTO level contacts as they transition their business to cloud architecture.
- Serve as a valuable asset to Salesforce with broad and deep knowledge across relevant domains.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 8+ years experience in software, system, or enterprise architecture disciplines.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, and multi-tier infrastructure.
- Knowledge of enterprise application integration, persona-based journeys, process orchestration, master data management, analytics, AI, etc.
- Understanding of security standards and issues in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications.
- Familiarity with the Financial Services industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of network, application, and information security principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-10 years in a pre-sales or customer-facing consultative role.
- Ability to communicate in French within a business setting.
- Deep understanding of business drivers and technical architecture.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security, and integration. Salesforce Financial Services Cloud knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with architectural frameworks, design thinking, and current methodologies.
- Familiarity with data privacy, risk management, and compliance requirements relevant to the region or industry.
- Knowledge of AI concepts, including ML, LLM, and agentic architectures.
