Job summary

IFS is seeking a Principal AI Engineer for its Aerospace & Defense division in Ottawa. You will set technical direction, lead multiple product groups, and own end-to-end delivery of AI-powered mobility solutions in customer environments.

You will design and deploy AI capabilities, mentor engineers, and work in a hybrid setup with global teams, focusing on robustness, RAG, MLOps, and integration with ERP/CRM/IoT.

Qualifications

• Proven AI product development experience across end-to-end lifecycles.
• Mobile engineering background with production apps, especially iOS/Android.
• Track record as a technical leader driving strategy across teams.
• Experience deploying AI in customer environments with enterprise systems.
• Strong communication and mentorship abilities.
• Forward‑deployed experience with ERP/CRM/IoT integrations.

Responsibilities

• Shape the next-generation mobility solution for aviation maintenance.
• Build AI-powered product capabilities, including model integration and MLOps.
• Lead the architecture and ensure delivery across cloud, edge and mobile.
• Deploy with customers, integrating with ERP, CRM, IoT and legacy systems.
• Own end-to-end delivery across design, development, testing and operations.
• Mentor engineers and drive the AI and forward-deployment practice.
• Anchor decisions in customer evidence and business value.
