Job summary

The Government of Yukon, Health & Social Services - Emergency Medical Services Whitehorse, seeks an Auxiliary On-Call Primary Care Paramedic in Whitehorse, YT. This role supports pre-hospital care across the Yukon and operates on a 75-hour bi-weekly on-call schedule.

Required: hospital-based paramedical education and recent pre-hospital emergency/non-emergency experience. Preference per admissibility; Indigenous Yukon ancestry considerations apply.

• Completion of a hospital-based or other recognized paramedical education/ program
• Recent experience providing pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transportation.

Desired knowledge, skills and suitability

• Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Experience working with allied agencies (e.g., Police, Fire, Health Care Professionals)

valid PCP licence from a paramedic governing body in Canada, TB screening; RCMP check with vulnerable sector check; and class 4 Yukon driver’s license (or equivalent)
