Job summary

Government of Yukon - Health & Social Services - Emergency Medical Services Medevac in Whitehorse invites applications for auxiliary on-call Critical Care Paramedic positions. Successful candidates will cover 75 hours bi-weekly, work varied shifts, and respond to rural and urban patient needs, providing pre-hospital and inter-facility care.

Based in Whitehorse, this role requires ALS-level pre-hospital care, strong decision-making, and adaptable teamwork.

As a Critical Care Paramedic, thisposition will be based in Whitehorse and be required to provide coverage for shortages in communities with various crews and working a variety of shifts based on operational requirements.

This opportunity

Reporting to the Superintendent, Air Ambulance theCritical Care Paramedicwill employ professional Critical Care Life Support skills to provide pre-hospital and inter-facility treatment and transportation to the general population. Evaluates the patient's clinical condition and performs detailed assessments in order to establish a treatment plan in support of optimal patient care. Works in environments where there is no medical support and where transport times routinely exceed four hours.

• Recent experience delivering pre-hospital emergency care at the Advanced Life Support (ALS) level
