Job summary

Thompson Fire & Emergency Services is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Primary Care Paramedic (PCP). This position offers competitive compensation, including overtime and northern incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Successful candidates will provide emergency medical services and pre-hospital care in Manitoba's fourth largest city. Candidates must hold relevant qualifications including a PCP license and BLS certification. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to work shifts, including holidays.

Qualifications

  • Must provide valid Vulnerable Sector Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
  • Experience providing emergency medical care within the PCP scope.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency medical calls safely and timely.
  • Perform patient assessments including history taking and vital signs.
  • Complete patient care reports and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain ambulances and medical equipment.

Skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet physical and medical fitness requirements
Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Education

Graduate of a recognized Primary Care Paramedic program
Current registration and licensure as a Primary Care Paramedic
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current CPR – Healthcare Provider (HCP)
Valid Class 4 MB driver’s license with air brake endorsement
