Job summary

Ambulance NB in Dalhousie, NB is hiring a Primary Care Paramedic for a full-time, permanent role. You will provide medical support to patients on scene and during transport while ensuring patient confidentiality and safety.

Overview

Position Title: Primary Care Paramedic

Location: Dalhousie, NB

Status: Full‑time permanent

Hours of Work: Rotating days and nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary Range: As per collective agreement

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide medical support to patients on scene and during transport to hospitals.
• Employ emergency techniques and administer medical treatments in unpredictable field conditions.
• Act as the first responder in crises, maintaining presence until the call is fully resolved.
• Maintain a high regard for confidentiality and patient safety.

Required Qualifications

• Entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit).
• Able to work efficiently as a member of a team and perform all shifts as assigned, while maintaining a good attendance record.
• High regard for confidentiality and patient safety.
• Completed a Primary Care Paramedic programme/course of over six months.
• Registered and actively licensed as a Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick.
• Valid New Brunswick Class 4 driver’s licence (or equivalent).

Additional Application Requirements

• Current résumé and cover letter.
• Copy of PCP diploma from an accredited institution.
• Proof of current registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick.
• Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to paramedic work within the last 12 months.
• Proof of valid CPR level C certification issued within the last 12 months.
• Photocopy of front and back of a valid Class 4 driver’s licence (or equivalent) with a minimum of one year driving experience.
• Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days.
• Copy of a valid driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS or NS VSP) issued within the last three years.
• Criminal record with Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last 30 days.
• Immunisation record showing up‑to‑date vaccination status (TTD, MMR, varicella, hepatitis B, TB).
• Valid official language assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post‑secondary Education, Training and Labour.
• Additional training and/or education is highly valued.
