Job description

Job Description: Clinical Pharmacist

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous quality and safety improvements are inherent in this position.

This role provides clinical pharmacy services within primary care network locales, working as part of an inter-professional team to identify and resolve drug therapy problems through comprehensive medication management.

Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet operational needs, potentially including the use of a personal vehicle.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Current registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Minimum 2 years' recent patient care experience, preferably in a team-based primary care setting or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.

  • Assessment and Treatment: Ability to perform patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Teaching: Capable of educating patients and colleagues individually and in groups.
  • Knowledge Integration: Use of current research and best practices to inform decisions.
