Job description

Location: Victoria, British Columbia

Type: In the Office

Our team is currently looking for a Preventive Maintenance Technician (I) to join their Victoria, British Columbia team. In this role, the successful candidate will be accountable for performing limited types of service work and will be required to assist on major projects, under the supervision and assistance from a Troy Certified Service Technician.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
  1. Perform, with minimal supervision, PMA, repairs within the scope of the Accountability Objective, and related duties as directed.
  2. Perform repairs necessary to complete PMA, except as excluded in Accountability Objectives.
  3. Perform other areas of work as required, e.g., emergency lighting, extinguishers, etc.
  4. Assist in other areas as assigned.
  5. Prepare and submit timely, accurate, and neat reports documenting all work performed.
  6. Analyze and report to supervisor any problems encountered during duties.
  7. Ensure productive use of time by communicating regularly with the service coordinator upon job completion.
  8. Independently develop knowledge of company products by reading service and technical bulletins or other provided materials, and through instructor-led training.
  9. Maintain and update related drawings, schematics, and service bulletins.
  10. Keep a neat and current parts inventory in the service vehicle.
  11. Strive for high customer satisfaction and suggest other products and services to customers when appropriate.
  12. Submit suggestions to the company to improve productivity, quality, or product design.
  13. Adhere to scheduled maintenance and safe operation of the company vehicle, maintaining its cleanliness and orderliness.
  14. Follow safe working procedures, report unsafe acts, hazards, and accidents.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma
  • One (1) year community college graduate in electronics and/or equivalent work experience
  • ASTT EX, EL, and FA tickets (where required by the AHJ)
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Employees who are electricians may perform work normally subcontracted to electricians, provided they are not performing work requiring a permit.

Hourly range: $29.98 - 34.59
