Job summary

IRIS in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a friendly, reliable Optometric Assistant for a part-time role to support a growing clinic. You'll welcome patients, help with pre-testing, assist doctors and optical staff with clinic flow, and provide basic teaching on contact lenses. Training will be provided.

The clinic offers a supportive team, modern EMR, and opportunities to learn from licensed opticians in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Previous clinic/optical/medical office experience is a bonus.
• Willing to learn and train in EMR and clinic workflows.
• Comfortable with computers and basic administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, help with pre-testing and intake, assist doctors and staff, and help maintain smooth daily operations.

We are a well-established eye care clinic in Chilliwack that has cared for families in this community for many years. Our patients are known by name.

We are adding a new part-time Optometric Assistant to help support our growing clinic.

What You'll Do:

Welcome patients, help with pre-testing and intake, assist doctors and opticians with clinic flow, contact lens teaching, and general support to keep the day running smoothly.

Who You Are:

Friendly, reliable, patient-focused, and eager to learn. Previous clinic, optical, or medical office experience is a bonus but we will train the right person. Comfortable with computers.

Schedule: Part-time [e.g. 2-3 days/week including Saturdays - flexible]
