Job Description:

Barrie Welding and Machine is seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright with expertise in dismantling, repairing, and rebuilding punch presses to join our team in Barrie, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with various types of mechanical presses and a strong mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and repairing complex systems. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantling and Rebuilding Punch Presses:
  • Efficiently disassemble and reassemble punch presses, ensuring all components are properly aligned and functional.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of dismantled components for wear, damage, or other issues requiring repair or replacement.
  • Mechanical Repairs:
  • Repair or replace eccentric gears, clutches, brakes, flywheels, and other key components of mechanical presses.
  • Work on a variety of mechanical presses, including single-geared, double-geared, and eccentric-geared presses.
  • Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems:
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic components integrated into press systems.
  • Ensure optimal functionality and performance of pneumatic or hydraulic systems during rebuilds.
  • Preventative Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of presses and ensure smooth operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service performed.
  • Quality Control:
  • Test rebuilt presses for proper operation and compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards of craftsmanship.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an industrial millwright, with specific expertise in dismantling, repairing, and rebuilding punch presses.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in working with eccentric-geared, clutch and brake repair, flywheel systems, and single or double-geared mechanical presses.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems in press operations.
  • Certifications:
  • Millwright certification or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures.
  • Other Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position based in Barrie, Ontario.
