Job summary

Multimatic-In is seeking a skilled Press Operator for the Ontario facility. You will operate the press, blank feeder, and overhead crane, performing die changes and maintaining quality control on stamped parts.

You will record inspection data, tag and label containers, and prepare production reports while adhering to OHSA, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards. The role requires problem-solving ability and willingness to participate in Kaizen activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a press operator.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.
• Ability to program new tooling parameters into gudel feeding equipment.
• Knowledge of RS View logic screens.
• Knowledge of servo type rail systems.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• SPC Level 1.

Responsibilities

• Operate the press and a blank loaded feeder.
• Operate the overhead crane for tool changes and blank loading.
• Complete die changes.
• Carry out quality control inspections on all stamped parts produced as per QC instructions.
• Record inspection findings on inspection records.
• Tag containers with bar code labels for part and lot numbers.
• Complete production reports and last off reports.
• Address defects and separate line accumulation defects.
• Change lot codes when required.
• Keep press area clean and safe at all times.
• Report abnormalities or unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Follow all procedures including OHSA, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949.
• Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.

This vacancy is for the afternoon shift.Key Responsibilities:Operate the press and a blank loaded feeder.Operate the overhead crane for tool changes and blank loading.Complete die changes.Carry out quality control inspections on all stamped parts produced as per quality control inspection instructions.Record all findings of inspections on inspection records.Record steel tags and lot numbers on the inspection records form.Tag each container with a bar code label with the part number and lot number quantity.Complete production reports and last off reports.Separate line accumulation defects (between vendor and/or press shop defects). Complete tagging as per the DMN procedure.Change the lot code numbers (as required).Ensure that the press, feeder, and entire working area is kept clean and safe at all times.Report any abnormalities or unsafe conditions of parts or machinery to the department leadhand, supervisor, or manager.Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.Basic Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of experience as a press operator.Forklift and overhead crane experience.Ability to program new tooling parameters into gudel feeding equipment.Ability to organize and program sensors and wires.Knowledge of RS view logic screens.Knowledge of servo type rail systems.Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.SPC Level 1.This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
