Multimatic-In is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker/General Machinist to design, repair, and maintain production tooling. You will set up 3-axis CNC mills, lathes, and grinders, read engineering drawings with GD&T, and optimize tool paths.

TIG/MIG welding and tool maintenance form core responsibilities in a fast-paced automotive environment. Ideal candidates have relevant apprenticeships, CNC programming experience, and a proactive approach to quality.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Tool & Die Maker, General Machinist, CNC Machinist, or related apprenticeship/trade program.
• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing, stamping, tooling or CNC machining preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CNC and conventional machine processes and equipment.
• Should have their own tools and toolbox; ability to work overtime and shifts as required.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and KeyCreator considered an asset.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, repair, modify, maintain and troubleshoot dies, fixtures, jigs, and production tooling.
• Set up and operate 3 axis CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and specifications.
• Program and edit CNC programs and adjust tool offsets as needed.
• Weld with TIG and MIG when required and troubleshoot tooling for quality improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on tooling and production equipment.
• Assist with tool tryouts, PPAP, prototype builds and production launches.
• Maintain records of tooling spares, repairs, modifications, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety and production standards; maintain clean work area.
• Mentor apprentices and support cross-functional teams as needed.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:Design, Build, repair, modify, maintain, and troubleshoot dies, fixtures, jigs, and production tooling.Set up and operate 3 AXIS CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment.Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.Program and/or edit CNC programs and make appropriate tool offsets and adjustments.TIG and MIG weld when necessary.Troubleshoot tooling and make necessary adjustments to improve quality and production efficiency.Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Tooling and Production equipments.Assist with Tool tryouts, PPAP,Protype build and production launches.Work closely with AQP, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance,Testlab and Production teams to resolve tooling related issues.Maintain accurate records of Tooling spares, repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality, safety, and production requirements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all applicable company safety procedures.Mentor apprenticeses.Other duties as assignedWork Environment: Tool Room and Manufacturing Floor environment, with regular exposure to machine and production equipment.Occasional travel to supplier, customer, or sister plant locations may be required for tooling support, trials, or troubleshooting.Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and work safely around CNC machines, presses, grinders, cutting tools, oils, coolants, and other manufacturing equipment.Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely handle tooling, dies, fixtures, and materials as required.Basic Requirements and Competencies: ·Completion of a Tool & Die Maker, General Machinist, CNC Machinist, or related apprenticeship/trade program.·Valid Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as a Tool & Die Maker and/or General Machinist is an asset.Previous experience in automotive manufacturing, stamping, tooling, or CNC machining is preferred.Strong knowledge of CNC and conventional machine processes and equipment.Should have their own tools and Toolbox.Ability to work overtime and shift work, as necessary.Proficiency in SolidWorks and Key creator would be an asset.Strong written and Oral communication skills in English.Experience with CNC programming and setup.Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude.Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
