Job summary

Sobeys Inc. in Dartmouth, NS is hiring a frontline deli associate to support daily operations and customer service. You will prepare deli items, assist customers, and ensure product quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Role requires physical stamina, ability to lift, stand long hours, and flexible scheduling to support peak times. You’ll join a team focused on service excellence across Sobeys banners in Canada.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Customer service experience or aptitude.
• May be required to lift up to 50lbs.
• Two-person lift required for weights over 50lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Physical work including bending, lifting and reaching.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
• Flexible hours and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Follow and adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health and Safety, and policies.
• Utilize required PPE during tasks.
• Follow inventory control procedures for ordering and receiving stock.
• Support and process customer meal orders.
• Assist in program execution and product merchandising.
• Handle and prepare deli products per safety policies.
• Promote products to help increase store sales.
• Assist in training junior staff and team members.
• Order and receive stock as required by inventory procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to meet needs.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Follow and Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Inventory control procedures followed when ordering and receiving stock
• Support and process customer meal orders
• Assist in performing program execution and merchandising of product
• In accordance with relevant Food Safety policies, handle and prepare cold and hot deli products
• Assist in the increase of store sales by actively promoting products
• Support and participate in the training of junior staff
• Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures as required
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment as per Company requirements
• Provide customer service to meet customer needs
• Other duties as required
