Job summary

Thermea Spa Village Whitby is seeking a Prep Cook to join our wellness village team in Whitby, Ontario. The role supports the Sous Chef, prepares dishes quickly and safely, and collaborates with the service team to ensure memorable guest experiences.

You will work under standards, plating and garnishing procedures, with a focus on sanitation and teamwork; weekend availability is required and the position includes a wellness-focused environment with Thermal Experience benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in a similar position (asset).
• Culinary Diploma from a credible school (asset).
• Patient with ability to stay positive under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, autonomy, dynamism and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work long hours on your feet and lift 50lbs (23kg).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean and maintain food prep areas and equipment for safety and sanitation.
• Regulate equipment temperatures to ensure proper cooking.
• Follow restaurant standards, policies and procedures consistently.
• Portion, arrange and garnish food per Thermëa specs.
• Assist in off-peak food prep and station coverage.
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rushes.
• Open or close the kitchen following the closing checklist.
• Coordinate with colleagues to meet guest needs and support operations.
• Perform other related duties.
