Thermea Spa Village Whitby is seeking a passionate Cook to join our wellness village team in Whitby, Ontario. You will report to the Sous Chef and prepare dishes to Thermëa standards, while collaborating with servers to ensure a memorable guest experience.

The role requires a culinary diploma (asset) and about two years of relevant experience, with the ability to stay positive under pressure and work long hours on your feet.

Qualifikationen

• Two years of experience in a similar position.
• Culinary diploma from a recognized school is an asset.
• Patient and able to stay positive under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, autonomy, dynamism and detail-oriented.
• Ability to stand long hours and lift 50 lbs (23 kg).

Aufgaben

• Inspect, clean and maintain food preparation areas, ensuring sanitary practices.
• Ensure food is stored, prepared and cooked at correct temperatures.
• Follow restaurant standards, rules, policies and procedures.
• Portion, arrange and garnish food according to Thermëa standard portions.
• Assist in food prep assignments for designated station during off-peak periods as needed.
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
• Open or Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
• Perform other related duties.
