A slope-side hospitality venue in British Columbia is seeking a dedicated Prep Cook-Dishwasher to assist in kitchen operations. In this role, you will help prepare food, maintain cleanliness, and support the culinary team in delivering a high-quality guest experience. Candidates should be physically capable and possess a Food Safe Level 1 Certification. The Prep Cook-Dishwasher supports the operations of the culinary team by assisting in all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, health and safety, sanitation, and food storage. Compensation Information: $19.00 per hour

Physical Requirement: Heavy; work activities involve handling loads up to 35kg; predominantly in an indoor setting

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Self-starts on tasks and can respond to varying business volumes as they relate to impacts in the kitchen.
  • Is physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works effectively within a team and recognizes when to provide support to other kitchen team members.
  • Self-disciplined with a sincere desire to provide an elevated guest experience.
  • Previous culinary experience / education is an asset (not required).
  • Working towards a career in culinary or a Red Seal Certification.
  • Holds a Food Safe Level 1 Certification.
  • Has a basic understanding of kitchen operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Responsible for maintaining all F&B service ware and areas up to the Health Department Standards.
    • Washing dishes for guest service and food preparation.
      • Ensures strict sanitation guidelines are followed.
      • Returns all clean dishes to assigned storage area.
      • Keeps records of temperature and chemical tests of sanitation equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping all food preparation and storage areas clean.
    • Maintains fridges and freezer on scheduled cleaning dates.
    • Maintains a clean and organized loading dock, garbage area, cardboard recycling and various other recycled items.
      • Sweep and mops floors after every shift.
      • Remove garbage after every shift.
      • Clean dishwasher after every shift.
      • Remove old fryer oil as required.
  • Responsible for the delivery of food supplies to kitchens.
    • Rotate food supplies on delivery inclusive of dating products.
    • Pick up and deliver all food products to kitchens.
  • Responsible for cleaning and peeling food products.
    • Fruit and vegetable preparation as per established standards.

  • Ensure the highest standards of sanitation are met.
