Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Prep Cook to support our kitchen team in Niagara Region. You will help prepare meals, portion dishes, and ensure residents receive delicious, comforting options that meet dietary needs.

This role emphasizes food safety, cleanliness, teamwork, and reliable shift coverage. High school diploma and 1–2 years in a volume food prep environment required; Food Safe Level 1 (Level 2 preferred).

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a volume food preparation environment
• Food Safe Level 1 certificate (Level 2 preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent education

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and cook meals that meet residents’ dietary needs
• Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients like meats, vegetables, and salads
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including dishes and work surfaces
• Support special event food preparation to highlight Chartwell’s hospitality
• Follow safe food handling, health, and safety practices, and store supplies properly
• Receive and store food and supplies, while completing daily temperature checks for fridges, freezers, and storerooms
