PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Oakville, Ontario, seeks a driven Preconstruction Student for the Solar District. This role offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real projects, with a focus on developing procurement and design coordination skills.

You will participate in coordinating design and procurement, reviewing RFPs, and supporting PM4+ dashboards. The program includes mentorship, networking events, and a pathway toward full-time roles within a growing solar portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with coordinating and managing the project design and procurement process, including detailed meeting minutes and follow-up on open items.
• Assisting with review of RFP documentation, drawings/diagrams, and specifications for key project requirements.
• Facilitating communication between project stakeholders using PM4+ to send RFIs and submittals.
• Assist with material take-offs, quantity optimization, and pricing recaps; develop Solar templates.
• Support project success by developing PM4+ procurement dashboards and drafting purchase orders.
• Communicating with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain relationships.

We are seeking a Preconstruction Student , for our Solar District that is available for 4-16 months starting January 2027.

As a Preconstruction Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities

• Assisting with coordinating and managing the project design and procurement process which includes taking detailed meeting minutes and following up on open items.
• Assisting with review of RFP documentation, drawings/diagrams, and specifications for key project requirements.
• Facilitating communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders by utilizing PM4+ to send RFIs and submittals.
• Assist projects with material take-offs, quantity optimization, and pricing compilation and recaps. Streamlining project processes by developing procurement operating practices and converting excel tools into standard Solar templates.
• Supporting project success by developing and maintaining PM4+ procurement dashboards for projects. Draft purchase orders and coordinate with estimators and schedulers to ensure compliance with project budgets and expected delivery dates.
• Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Developing and maintaining strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a solar preconstruction function
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superior attention to detail
• Proficient in various computer software programs, including AutoCad, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Excel)
• Familiarity with PM4+ and Power BI is a plus.

The estimated salary range for this role is $21.37- $31.34 , based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
