Job summary

Charles River in Laval, Canada, is seeking a Technician for our Necropsy team. You will perform post-mortem examinations, following study plans to ensure animal health and integrity of pre-clinical studies.

Job Overview

As aTechnician for our Necropsy team located in Laval, you will mainly be responsible for performing the post-mortem examination of animals while following the ethical regulations and directives from study plans. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, primary responsibilities include:

  • Dissecting and evaluating animal tissues for pathologists;
  • Weigh and document all abnormalities of the organs;
  • Euthanize animals prior to performing the necropsy.

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • Collegial diploma related to Biological Science or Natural Science;
  • Dissection experience (asset);
  • Good observation skills;
  • Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undertake an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

Role Specific Information:

  • Transportation: Free parking. Near the Montmorency Subway. Electric vehicle charging station;
  • Annual bonus based on performance;
  • Schedule: Daytime schedule, Monday to Friday. Depending on the needs, you may have to do weekends rotations and overtime;
  • Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
