Charles River in Senneville, QC is seeking a Prosector - Necropsy to join our Necropsy team. You will perform post-mortem examinations on animals following study plans, ensuring the health of our subjects and integrity of pre-clinical studies.

The role offers a daytime schedule, permanent full-time status (37.5 hours/week), and benefits. Primary duties include dissection, documentation, and, when required, euthanasia, with overtime and on-site shuttle support available.

Qualificações

• Collegial Diploma in Animal Health or Biology-related degree required.
• Dissection experience is an asset.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain attention to detail.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 20 kg.
• Reading and writing English is required; French and English bilingualism preferred.

Job Overview

Prosector - Necropsy

As aTechnicianfor ourNecropsyteam located inSenneville, you will mainly be responsible for performing the post-mortem examination of animals while following the ethical regulations and directives from study plans. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, primaryresponsibilitiesinclude:

• Dissecting and evaluating animal tissues for pathologists;
• Weigh and document all abnormalities of the organs;
• Euthanize animals prior to performing the necropsy.

We are looking for the followingminimum qualificationsfor this role:

• Collegial Diploma in Animal Health (any other Biology related field) or Bachelor’s degree in biology or any other Animal Science related field;
• Dissection experience (asset);
• Ability to work in a team environment, independently, and detail-oriented;
• Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
• Reading and writing English is required. Bilingualism French and English is preferable.

Role Specific Information:

• Transportation: We offer a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station;
• Evenings: $2.50;
• Overtime: Time and a half;
• Holidays: Double time;
• Annual bonus based on performance;
• Schedule: Daytime schedule. Depending on the needs, you may have to do weekends rotations, holidays work and overtime;
• Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
