Job summary
Bridge Machine in Canada is seeking an experienced Honing Machinist to set up and operate industrial honing equipment for hydraulic cylinder barrels and related components, ensuring tight tolerances and proper surface finishes. You will read drawings, select honing tools, adjust speeds and feeds, and measure bores with precision tools.
You’ll inspect finished work and collaborate with machinists, welders, and the production team to meet quality standards.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years machining and honing experience.
- Experience reading drawings and specs.
- Knowledge of hydraulic cylinder honing and bore geometry.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate industrial honing equipment for hydraulic cylinders and related components.
- Hone internal diameters to specified dimensions and surface finish requirements.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Select appropriate honing tools, speeds, feeds, and operating parameters.
- Measure bores accurately using precision measuring equipment.
- Inspect finished work and ensure it meets quality requirements.
- Collaborate with machinists, welders, and production team on repairs.
